In a new interview, Angelina Jolie details her experiences in her marriage to Brad Pitt that left her “fearful for her children’s safety”. She talks about her 10-year relationship and two-year marriage to the actor. Jolie has now co-authored a book called, Know your Rights and Claim Them: A Guide for Youth.

Jolie confirmed to the reporter that she was referring to domestic allegations she made against Brad Pitt and she said that her children’s wishes and rights weren’t being honored.

While Jolie said she “can’t speak about” the legalities of her situation,  she was asked if she feared for herself and her family and she said “yes” my whole family”.

Pitt declined to be interviewed for the Guardians Weekend Story piece. Both Jolie and Pitt have left it to the lawyers and the public to speak about why they broke up and Pitt’s admitted alcohol abuse.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, but the once Hollywood super couple remain locked in a battle over custody of their 5 minor children.

Pitt recently sought out a review by the California Supreme Appealte court for more time with his five children. It is noted that the children are all teenagers now and should be able to decide who they spend time with and who they live with where their parents are concerned.

Jolie has pushed the court to allow her to present evidence of Pitt’s alcoholism and domestic violence and also to let the children testify.

Legal experts claim this will be traumatizing for children, no matter their age.

Pitt has admitted that he had alcohol and anger management problems that he has since addressed in recovery.
