John Stamos Admits He Spiraled After Rebecca Romijn Divorce – Thought She Was The “Devil”

John Stamos is speaking out in his memoir about his divorce from Rebecca Romjin (early 2000’s). He mentions that maybe she was not the “devil” – a term he used to describe her famously during that time.

“That is when I really started to drink a lot” says Stamos. “But without that, I never would’ve known what real love is and I would not ever have straightened up”.

“I just hated her,” Stamos admitted a few days ago to People Magazine. “I couldnt believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life”.

The memoir called “If you would have told me”, shares candidly the ups and downs of life in the aftermath of his divorce from Rebecca. Stamos (60) says that unfortunately the hurt and abuse of alcohol went on for “years and years”.

He recalls that as one of the important steps in AA – it is important to lay out all your grievances, everything that people did to you. He says he realized maybe he was as much to blame as her.

“It was very public, and that was painful”, he says. “She was doing great at that time and I wasn’t. It was humiliating”.

He mentions that the perception that people took was that her career was doing better than his and that she left him partly because of this.

“That is when I really started to drink a lot”, Stamos says. He also says his healing process “was not healthy”.

Stamos is now married with a five year old daughter. He credits what he went through with making him the person he is today with the life he has. “That is what I hope people take away from it” (the book).
